About JITW Crusades

JITW (Jesus is the Way) crusades is an evangelistic ministry that started in 2011 at Amasaman. The name JITW crusades was adopted in 2014 from the biblical quote of our Lord Jesus Christ; “…I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” John 14:6. Today JITW crusades is responsible for (at least) one out of every annual gospel crusade organised in Ghana. We gather volunteers from all across the country to go preaching the message of Salvation through Jesus Christ in identified localities within Ghana.

JITW Crusades started as a mission to build the membership of the local church, Sacred Heart of Jesus Anglican Church, Amasaman, Accra Ghana. In 2011 the youth of the church came together to evangelize the community in order to bring people to Christ as well as introduce new members into the church. Led by, Jehoshaphat Calys-Tagoe, the group successfully organised a 7-day gospel outreach to Amasaman that was climaxed with a 2-day outdoor crusade. Though no new members were added to the membership of the church the outreach transformed most of the youth exposing them to remarkable christian experiences such as the power of preaching the gospel and the power of the Holy Spirit. It was very evident that among the volunteers there was a life transformation.

Consequently, in 2012, another outreach was organised but this time with a different objective all together. The focus was no more limited to bringing people to Christ but extended to exposing volunteers to spiritual growth through evangelism. In that regard the group invited other youth from outside the church to join the mission (in a bid to introduce them to the power of evangelism). Again for 7 days volunteers went door to door preaching the gospel whilst engaging in self development exercises like prayer and bible studies. There was no doubt that 2012 was more successful compared to that of 2011.
